Rhodesian RhSigs Music Stand Embroidery
Attached is a photograph of the RhSigs music stand embroidery. This was donated to the RNZ Signals archives by Lt Col J.R. (Ross) Clarke. Ross had served in RNZ Signals in Korea, an unknown Gulf Signals, Major 1 Zambia Signal Squadron and in 1970 as Lt Col in RhSigs. For badge collectors the Zambia Signals cap badge at that time was a Royal Signals cap badge without a crown. The background to the Jimmy was normal domestic corps colours of Light blue, dark blue and Green.

RHODESIA SIGS MUSIC STAND
Morning Cliff
Thanks for adding the Rhodesia Signals Band Music Stand. Here with a little question regarding the attached Signals Band. Looking at the photo and the Music Band Stand the Jimmy has a Queens Crown but the bottom of the badge looks very much like the Republic of Rhodesia and Nyasaland Signals Badge from the 1957 to 63 era. What do you think Cliff. Hard to see the badge type on the Fez really. Best wishes Freddie |

Rhodesia Corps of Signals Band Badge
Thanks Wayne.
Yes I agree that the Corps of Signals became so in 1964 It just looks like the badge on the music stand looks to be that of the Rhodesia and Nyasaland Corps of Signals from the bottom but not clear enough to say for sure. If it is the case the Rhodesia and Nyasaland Signals ran from 1957 to 1963 with a Queens Crown, after which it became Southern Rhodesia Corps of Signals from 1964 until 1965 and then after that it became the Rhodesia Corps of Signals until 1970 when the St Edwards Crown was changed to the "Zimbabwe Bird" or Soap Stone Bird. Just trying to ascertain if the photo looks like Rhodesia and Nyasaland Signals badge or not. What do you think Wayne. Best wishes Chris |
