Leinster OSD?
Kind sirs, is this an OSD cap or collar?
Do you deem it to be authentic? Thank you Mike |

Certainly OSD cap badges had loops but I don't know if there was a size difference between cap and collar OSD badges.
In any case the quality of the cast was probably not made by Firmin, Jennens or Gaunt - but probably genuine. John M will give you the right answers ! Last edited by KLR; 04-03-19 at 08:43 AM. |

With lugs, a full size OSD collar badge. Would expect a cap badge to have blades.

Just from the photographs, I would think an original collar badge.

In view of the photographs and the mention of three of the most prolific manufacturers of officer's collar badges, I would be very interested to know why it cannot have been made by those manufacturers, in particular, the former and latter, given the variation in quality of their wares during the Great War?

Only just seen this thread. Not that it needs it but it’s another thumbs up from me. Genuine OSD collar.
