Whilst these are Buffs, there is an early Mons without a loop in the tail.

Andy,
I didn't think any "early" badges were made in A/A. Kevin |

Gents,
Incidentaly there are at least 2 distinctly differant versions of this anodised Buffs collar. Both have the 'loop' but clearly appear to be from differing die's. The anodised Buffs cap badge is generally seen maker marked with an early pattern Smith & Wright slider, so one can probably assume that one of the collar versions was made by them. The other . . . at a guess . . . . . I would plump for Firmin, unless S & W used varying die's, however I have no evidence to support this of course. Kind regards all Bess |
