Robin Hood Rifles Field Officer.
Picked this up today. Badged to the Robin Hood Rifles, not sure about the cap badge being original to the cap a/a?
However the badge is well fixed with the slider bent over on itself and the Crown stitched to the cap. Any thoughts or comments welcomed. Tony.

A field officer's cap, and so the anodised aluminium slidered badge is presumably a wrong 'un, but I have no knowledge of the accepted practises within the TA unit.

Leigh agreed, this begs the question, is it a Robin Hoods cap? Any help on this is appreciated.
Thanks Tony.

I have been badged Robin Hood Rifles. In my field service cap, Green/rifles style I wore a KC silvered cap badge. Others wore the standard A/A badge. In the beret officers and NCOs wore a black painted A/A badge. I coated mine in varnish to stop the paint chipping and rubbing away too easily. This was 1995/6

So, this may well be a good'un as worn by Notts ACF

Interesting Matti.
Having looked again there's a name 'Holt' inked behind the sweatband. Cheers Tony.

Yes to the above. However the A Coy Notts ACF are now badged Rifles. However the bugles and drums detachment are still badged Robin Hoods.

The bugles and drums detachment, would they have a Field Officer badged to the detachment?

Ironically they do. However suspect this hat predates the 2007 rebadging in the county.

The current “Field Officer” is actually referred to as “The Director of Music - East Midlands ACFs” (covers Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire ACFs), The “School of Music” is based at Bulwell in Nottingham

Its certainly a lovely hat.
The main body is of the RGJ / The Rifles type. Black piping and a black lace band.Looks like RGJ buttons rather than Rifles ones. But the peak isnt a Rifles one,it would have black rather than silver around it. More of the Light Infantry type. |

The black lace band, if you study it closely, you can make out Oak leaves and acorns.
This fits perfectly ( to me ) with the Robin Hood cap badge. Tony.
