Thanks for the information Jon, and the great examples. You mentioned in your last paragraph about the example with the "black" bands being wartime, but all four of your pictures show blue bands. Do you have a black band example to post? Any chance we could see pictures of the entire uniform that those sleeves belong to? |

Wow! Those are fantastic!!! Thanks for sharing pictures of both uniforms with us Jon. Congratulations on having those in your collection. Did they both belong to the same soldier?
I am also encouraged after seeing your WWII example, as it appears to have the same badge I showed in post #21 above. Could you possibly show us a close-up picture of the badge from the WWII uniform? You did not post it with the other close-up in post #27. Do you have the bullion example on a uniform too? |

I realize this thread deals primarily with British Army Bomb Disposal. With that said, did the RAF have a BD unit assigned to Combined Operations?

That is a really nice looking Battledress, if it is legitimate. |

Here is another BD badge I recently picked up. It appears to be the un-cut or un-shaped version of the one I posted earlier with identical construction methods. I assume they were manufactured on the rectangular piece of red felt, then the soldier would trim it to the oval shape before sewing on a uniform.
