Smile PPA Badge

Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time poster, here.

I recently received a few cap badges and other insignia via an uncle, which he received from his father after he passed on last year. As he has no interest in such things, and knowing that I collect WW2 militaria and insignia, he sent them over to me.

His father served in N.Africa during WW2, with the RTR. I don't know a great deal more, other than that he was a Desert Rat. My uncle was never told how his father came to be in posession of the PPA badge that I now have, but passed on that his father mentioned spending some time around the PPA during his time in Africa, however I am asking him if he has any other information that might better place his movements and his specific Regiment.

As the history of the item is unknown to us, I was hoping that I might be able to find out some solid facts from the very knowleadgeable folks that I see posting on these forums. I suspect it to be a post-war item acquired for posterity, maybe a Gaunt, perhaps? I've never encountered any PPA items before, so my knowleadge is limited to what I have put together from reading threads on the subject.

I have a Photobucket album containing a few close-up pictures of the item.

If anybody could let me know what the badge is, I'd be most grateful indeed.

Thanks!

Hi,

You've locked your account, you need to make it public so we can see it

Lots of views but no reponses yet.

Surely someone must be able to fill in the blanks on this one for me, please?

Yes a repro. Search on PPA in the forum and you will find a few good ones.

In my humble opinion this one is not right, compare it with the one of Andy posted in this thread, JB
