501 RAF Regt and No.1 PTS KC
All,
my latest 2 acquisitions. 1 from Yate and one from a member of the squadron: - 501 Royal Auxiliary Air Force Regiment on an MTP blanking plate. This insignia has now been approved by the Powers that be and is worn by the Squadron. I presume that it has a (City of Gloucester) or a (City of Oxford) part of the title also, but not currently aware. There's also been a crown badge on black produced, my source tells me (but he didn't have one of them unfortunately). - a King's Crown Number 1 Parachute Training School on black cotton. Never seen one before. Very high quality embroidery rather than the more modern printed on white cotton version. Ian H |

Nice to see another new RAuxAF TRF. The full title is 501 (County of Gloucester) Squadron. They have been reorganised and it is now a Logistics Squadron not RAF Regiment. However your badge is for 2624 (County of Oxford) Squadron not 501, it has also reformed to a Role Support Squadron in 2013.
