Default Another unusual Chaplain badge.

Has anyone ever seen another one of these Australian Chaplain collar badges?
It would be nice to find another to make a pair, also a hat badge if it exists. It is not often that you find a badge that you haven't ever seen before. The maker's mark on the back is Taylor Perth and it came from the estate of an Australian Chaplain General.

hi kingsley
very unusual as it has the body of a ww1 period badge with a qe2 crown.
i wonder if it has not been put together at some stage? looks as if the crown may have been attached rather than it being all one piece?

Hi kingsley and bc,
I would suspect that the badge has been modified in recent years. The metals do not match.
Cheers, Tinto

Default unusual chaplain badges

Hi Tinto and BC,
You are quite right, the collar badge is bi-metal, made up with a separate QC crown, perhaps ordered by the General himself. However, I haven't heard of the actual maker (Taylor Perth) before. Strange that he would put his name on a one-off.
Here is another unidentified badge, not sure if it has anything to do with chaplains. White metal, only 21mm high. ?????? Any info would be appreciated.

Hi kingsley,
I think this badge is a St John's Ambulance rank badge.
Cheers, Tinto

Hi Kingsley, Your unidentified white metal cross shaped badge is a St John's adult members home nursing badge. I was awarded one in approx 1982, by then it was in cloth but I was given a metal version by a retiring member.

Best wishes Dave Moore Registered Nurse.

I'd suggest Taylor was the company/jeweller who converted it...
