Default krrc solid crown

Hi
I am quite new to this, thus a foolish question. Was the KRRC badge ever produced with a solid crown, i.e. non voided crown.
Thank you very much.

Mike

It's not a foolish question. The short answer is that the sealed pattern was with a voided centre and crown. It's not impossible that a WW1 maker failed to void the crown as this did occur in many badges due to the pressure of demand and the lack of skilled labour to pierce the voids.

However there are a lot of common copies with solid crowns and centres so I would be careful.

Thank you very much. In this case the center is voided, but the crown is not.
Again thank you.

If you can post a photo of the front and back of the badge then I am happy to offer an opinion as to its validity.

There were some variations and I have even seen an unpainted one where it got out of the factory without being blackened at all.

I believe it to be the common WW 1 period pattern badge. I will enclose a photo soon.
Thanks
Mike

Thanks Alan, to my untrained eye they are similar but not the same. The slider is much different and mine has a void above the bugle. I have taken photos but have to learn how to post them here. I shall do so shortly.
My thanks for your help.
Mike

I wouldn’t have a problem with it. Looks OK to my eyes.
