Queen's Royal Irish Hussars Pouch Badge
Here's another new pickup.
A very nice Queen's Royal Irish Hussars Pouch Badge with 3 screw posts on back. Enjoy! Mick

Not sure. It's a nice badge either way.

This would appear to be it present in the Martin Marsh repro catalogue, MM894.
Probably another for the debate Tim and I were having regarding the more modern badges that feature and how they fit in potentially as PRI purchase or commissioned pieces. A very grey area and a minefield I think. Stylistically the badge itself shares some of the common traits of the typically repro dies produced i.e. rounded letter ends and very coarse seeding. Being post 1952 it’s outside my area of interest and knowledge but if as Tim says these are possibly unworn given its appearance in a catalogue of fake and fantasy badges for me it would fall into the dubious category. The badge in the OP appears blacked or chemically aged. Why would a pouch badge be blackened? |

When I said 'possibly never worn' I should have written 'mint and unworn'. This post details the wearing of the badge on the caubeen by QRIH drummers. https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...77&postcount=2
Note that unlike the cap badge design, the harp strings are spaced irregularly. However, it could still be a manufacturer's overrun marketed by MM! How many badges were actually required by the handful of QRIH drummers? Tim
