Default Loyal Regt QC A/A

Can anybody please tell me why this badge should be stamped on the inside of the slider facing the back of the badge with the No 1587 it must have been done pior to fixing many thanks chris

Could this have been done by the owner when issued i.e. last 4 of regt number??

Quite probably Jerry,

Ive seen Ardindley CCF badges with a number scratched into the back of them.I think with regards to anodised badges those are the only ones.

Hi and many thanks for replys ref the Number it is stamped with a punch and not scratched plus it is on the inside of the slider so must have been put there pior to fixing the rose is normally gold but in this case it is red I know this was sometimes done by the soldiers I wonder if an order was placed for x amount? at some time the maker is Gaunt London looking foreward to any help chris
