Question Gordons Highlanders......Restrike

Hi all,

Sorry, last one I promise. Gordon Highlanders - is this a restrike? I am puzzled by the lack of detail in the bottom right corner - indicated in photo 2. Which is not finished off like the opposite side?

It is also the lettering that has got me thinking - the A is an "A rather than a A. ie the Cross bar is higher on mine than 687 (Kipling number)?

The back - Copper lugs? Made from one piece and then bent in two to form the pin holder.

Any thoughts, thanks

Steve
