Thumbs up Hospitality

Once again I have popped in on 1stTankie for a few hours, it's always a pleasure to be in his presence and we ( this time I was chauffeured, so the drive was more enjoyable also ), were looked after as usual by his lovely wife Sheila.

This only re-iterates my previous remarks of how nice it is to meet other Forum members and the pleasure I personally get from looking at what they hold dear to themselves, I have never been disappointed and this applies to my visits to Gordons, thanks to you both.

I promise that one day, I will venture as far as the lowlands of Hertfordshire and even South Wales

Dave.

Question A Puddle Jumper?

Dave,

Any chance you will make it across the pond?

Don

Hi Don,

I would dearly love to but although Kath doesn't fly distances very well ( her arms ache after half an hour ), it is the shrinking pensions and our whole economy over here that stops me going anywhere abroad now, know what I mean ??

I would have to have a significant win on the old lottery....

Dave.

Hi Dave,

Someone once told me it was a mistake to base my retirement plans on winning the lottery. What they didn't say was that it might become the best option. I'm still hoping to make the trip. God willing and the creek don't rise, as we say here.

Regards,

Don

As always it was a pleasure to see you again; thank you for sparing the time.

You'll both be made more than welcome and if it's before I see you somewhere else, you can leave the Lowlands clutching your new stick.

Apart from anything else, it will be handy for scaling the chalk hills of Northern Hertfordshire and traversing the perilous slopes of river valleys as you leave our verdant County.

And for beating off those at the fairs who step in front of you in order to snatch from under your very nose the London badges you so desire.

Hope to see you both soon.

Regards

A Hertfordshire Pals spokesman.

Cheers Brian,

Plans are afoot, all I have to do is to ask Kath if she would like a week-end away, take the wrong turning while heading for the Cotswolds, you know, a bit of B.& B. etc ( and that's not badges & badges lol ).

I'm sure I can do something when the weather improves

Take care.

Dave.
