Leigh,
There was a one piece collar badge that had the eagle on the grenade. The cap badge would have had the Maid of Erin Harp with POW feathers above on the grenade.

Vertical rather than horizontal eagles?
I take it that K&K have mistakenly shown a collar rather than a cap badge?

There were Vertical Grenades on one and two piece collars and Horizontal Grenades on two piece collars.

Ta, so it looks like K&K were in error - I spent time looking for that eagle variation years ago. thinking that it would have preceded the harp version..........

I spent time looking for that eagle variation years ago too I wanted it to be a Victorian cap badge, but it was still a collar.

Posted simply because I re-aquainted myself with it a while ago - a plaque of 1st Bn RIF, Kenya,1955.
A locally made job by the look of it, the applied insignia and scroll being wood carvings.
