AAC Anti Aircraft Section Shoulder Title
I found this AAS Title in a Job lot from Auction. I am trying to research it but get conflicting info. Is it AA Service or Section please?
Also I have read the crews were made up from RA or RGA Personell. Is this correct? It is stamped Tiptaft B/ham on the rear. Did they have a Dedicated Cap Badge or retain their Parent Regt Badge? As there is not an awful lot of info on the Title, im hoping members may know more. Any answers to the above would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance. I'd also be interested to learn more about this.
I have tried to research them in connection with a "delandre" label produced during WW1 - I believe it to be Anti-Aircraft Section and part of the RGA, but would welcome correction or further info.. |

Norman Litchfield has this in his book on RA shoulder titles as "Anti-Aircraft Sections RGA worn during WW1 Sometimes worn together with an RGA title"
I also have a smaller variant which is shown in Edwards & Langley's book on Proficiency Badges in a brass wreath as a two part badge. But described as 'Unknown' Regards Sean |

So I can Definitely say it is 'Sections' as opposed to 'Service'. One Q answered. many thanks.
I would assume that they kept their RA Cap Badge then. |
