Yes, it's got that 50's look but possibly with a Tankies type double fold.
Maybe attached to a Tankie unit?

In my day known as a D.A. but more commonly ,"a double tw4t".
Not acceptable as a style in my unit I got as close as I could to the double fold by tucking up the band on the rear of the left side - the very picture of elegance, I was.
