Default Royal Army Service Corps Cap Badge – Red Backing
Royal Army Service Corps Cap Badge – Red Backing

I was recently looking at a framed set of unnamed WWII medals along with a RASC cap badge and reverse centre of the badge had a red felt backing, similar to that seen on a Border Regiment badge. Would the red backing on the RASC badge be particular to a Division or Corps or just framed that way for effect?

Your thoughts welcome.
