Bess and peter, If it is Cameronians then it is probably a TRF that needs to have the sides folded under for proper size, if it is indeed Douglas. The Cameronians badge backing tartan is a Douglas square with the two white lines making a +, not an X.

I suspect it might be Lamont for various RLC units. The size does indicate a badge backing though.

Very nice badge Jerry! Is the tartan original to it? If so, that makes it even better!!!

It is the Lamont Tartan of

94 Ordnance Company (V) RAOC - Glasgow
earlier < 51 Ordnance Field Park (V) < 51 Stores Company RAOC (V)

worn as a badge backing on a Dark Blue Beret

which became

125 (Ration) Squadron (V) RLC (Glasgow) of The Scottish Transport Regiment (V) since 1999
(before that an independent RLC Squadron)

Rest of Scottish Transport Regiment (V) RLC wear the Red McDuff Tartan

moved and became 125 (Supply) Squadron RLC (V) at Stoke on Trent in 2015(?)

part of

159 Regiment RLC (Reserves) based across the Midlands.

(Tartan no longer worn)

Jerry - At no time was this unit RCT
