Default latest Winnipeg Rifles

Hi All,

would like to offer up my latest 2 purchases up for discussion.

first up - a blackened brass - no maker mark.

second - error motto type in what appears to be bronze with 2 unusual features - unvoided between devils back leg and numeral 3, and maker stamped twice. The bottom stamp is missing first and last ' T ' from tiptaft. has anyone seen a similar badge before ? Double stamped because of first stamp error ?

Any info much appreciated, Mark

Interesting, never seen that unvoided feature before.

It looks like an error/unfinished badge. The badge should be voided .

All:
You would wonder why they carried on and stamped the maker mark(s), and attached the lugs when clearly the stamping was not quite correct.....

Default badges

Many thanks for replies. Bill - that was my thoughts exactly - an error badge. Didn't void and didn't get stamped correctly, so tried again and survived being scrapped ! Or was issued anyway ? If the badge could tell the story...
