Default Tank collar badge

Although it has had the rear loops, lugs, posts removed, I would still like to know about it. Please.

Marc

Hi Marc, I have a pair but the crowns are not very good and they are silver or chrome plated. Also I have one, well made, as a sweetheart on a pale green pendant, this came from a tanker who had been in India, so I would guess they are Indian manufacture, hope this helps Mike

Thank you Mike.

Why the "Push me Pull me" gun turret?

Marc

Hi Marc, the whole tank is in two halves, probably whoever made them had a balanced outlook on life and had never seen a tank, best wishes Mike

Some Marks had sponsons with two guns didn't they?
(Not that that explains why one of those would be chosen for the badge).

Not sure that it has any relevance but the Canadian Essex Regiment (Tank) and the 1st Tank Battalion Canada both had tanks with similar sponsons.

Could it be an FSC badge? Vaguely recall reading somewhere there was one but not something I’ve ever actually looked into.

Hi Marc, here are pics of mine. The tank in this case comprises of two front halves. If you look at a normal one you will see the radiator covers at the rear. The tank image you show is the machine gun (female) version. Hope this helps, Mike

So the tank on the collar badge does not exist and has been produced for reasons unknown?

Marc

Hi Marc, I think you maybe over egging it. Some one, probably Indian, produced a badge to the best of his knowledge. Take for instance the original desert rat morphed from a anatomically correct rat into something like a kangaroo, all with the best intentions and still perpetuated today, best wishes Mike

Interesting badge, Marc. Thanks for sharing! The shape of tanks and sponsons never seizes to amaze.
