Default Repro Makers Marks

Gentlemen,
quite a few spurious makers marks have been highlighted here on the Forum recently, this is another to watch out for "LAMBOURNE & CO BIRMINGHAM" in this case on a 2nd Vol Bn Norfolks. The position of the mark, low down and not central on the slider and the shallowness of the lettering strike are the tell tale signs to watch for!

Just spotted this one!

Glad it's not an "Offices" badge with a "Slidder"

He's good fun (as long as you don't buy his badges), but this one worries me!

Andy, They're all getting a bit worrying now, even the cab driver is getting them made with correct voids etc etc, & still people buy 'em !!

Wilf,
I'm for blacklisted them here, at least members will then know to steer clear? Shame there's not enough support!

After being stung a couple of times I have now learned that the fake Labouurne Co makers marks do not have the horizontal line under the "o" of Co.

This just means that the fakers will now put a line under the 'o'.

James & Dave,
unfortunately this is always going to be a problem we have. As another thread has recently pointed out ,the fakers are now putting in the correct voids, etc, where b4 they had it wrong.
How does one inform the collector of what to look for & protect the information, at the same time ? Impossible ?
It's hard to state that a certain badge is right or wrong, without giving a good reason ?
Do we only give comments & reasons verbaly & not show how it should look ?
I do'nt know that there is an answer ?

Steve

PS: Have now checked my 'Lambourne' stamped badges ! One previously doubted item is now officially a dud ! Thanks James !
