Default Canada tank collar

Hi, bit of a Canadian day yesterday at local fair. Managed to get this badge, not a Gaunt badge, does any one know who the maker would be. There appears to be a maker's mark, a Greek head, thanks in advance, Mike

Hello Mike, the image of the mm is a bit blurry, but it looks like the Scully maker mark. (Greek helmeted figure).

Now I am not so sure. Scully mark is more like the Greeks used on the Artist's Rifles badges.

Not convinced it is actually a collar badge, me thinks it's a sterling sweetheart which has been lugged for some reason!?
I have two sterling marked sweethearts with this stamping to the back both flat backed, with original brooch pin. 71 and 168 battalon, as Caron made the cap badges I'm thinking Caron my have made these also.
All best Dan

Dan, that pattern of badge was not authorized until 1940, when the Canadian Armoured Corps badges were approved. I have a pair, somewhere, that are similar flat back, opposite sides, attributed to officer's.
