Lake Superior Regiment

Hello Everyone. We have this Lake Superior Cap Badge which has lost its
white metal overlay . How does this occur ?
Badge has W Scully Ltd. Montreal on reverse .

Any number of ways. It could have been pried off. The bond may have been weak. The surfaces were not fluxed. It was banged hard.
