Canadian Busby?

Hello,

I need some assistance identifying this busby before I move it on. I believe it is Canadian? Can anyone confirm the unit?

Des,, what suggests Canadian use? Is there a label or some indication? Clive Law doesn't show that colour combination for any Canadian rifle regiment busbies in Fuss & Fashion.

Green and white plumes were worn by one of the component regiments of the British regiment the Light Infantry (the Durham LI?) and after the new regiment was formed by the regiment's Junior Soldiers.

I don't know if it isn't Canadian - I haven't seen that tightly curled black fur on a rifles cap before, only straight fur on OR's and Astrakhan on officers caps. Perhaps Canadian or early British, Volunteers.
The plume, cockade, cords may not be original to the cap, the cockade has an unusual "homemade" look to it.

As in the type of "fur" or as in the may or may not be original plume etc (or both) please?

The chord, boss and plume are not recorded for any Canadian regiment. The lambskin body material is found on Canadian headdress. Much of the Canadian militia headdress was made in the UK prior to 1914. (and also post First WW in certain cases.)

Thank you - not Canadian as is, but if the detachable plume, iffy looking cockade and the cords which may or not be original are removed, it could be Canadian, but who knows.
These things remind me of the old pikelhaube problem -replace a few missing parts, swap a few bits around, add a few repro loose bits that arent actually fixed to the headgear and away you go.............

Presumably there are no markings in the cap or they would have been mentioned.

Never seen that pattern in a Canadian type before, could even be a pipers and not military, does look old though. The boss is unusual as well.
