I need help with these two badges please. The age stained one reads R.A.A.F. The other reads R.A.F. I know what the initials stand for but the wearing of the badges and time line eludes me, Many thanks.

RAF/RAAF Chaplains. They were worn as collars, on the side cap and as part of the badge for the peaked cap.
