Of course not.

I shared the pic here as well to reach those who might not visit the GWF and also because over there it was posted in the very long (& excellent) post cards thread and I thought it was slightly swamped among the rest.

Having looked yet again I wonder if the sergeant kneeling front left has just been made up ........ there is a big gap between bottom chevron and the next. If so, it is odd that the storebashers were short of a set!

Storebashers not heard that expression before.

I had not noticed the gap.

A SWB field officer's cap (the officer was killed in 1916 having transferred to a different regiment) with its white cover.
The cover is shown loose as the side buttons are unfastened.
