Standard Cap badge with gun, scrolls (mottoes), and crown Brass King’s Crown Cap Badge Pattern number 5752, sealed 17th July 1902, Catalogue No. needed Two lugs, for wear in the "Broderick" Cap. Brass King’s Crown Cap Badge Pattern number 5752, sealed 5th January 1903, Catalogue No. Long Slide (vertical shank) for wear in the Foreign Service Helmet, and Universal Headdress. [PRO, WO 359/12 pages 120-121] Brass King’s Crown Cap Badge Pattern number 5752, (1902) re-sealed in 1906, Catalogue No. Shortened Slide (vertical shank) for wear in the Khaki, and Coloured Peaked Cap. [PRO, WO 359/13 pages 169] Brass King’s Crown Cap Badge Pattern number 5752 (1902), 26th June 1916 as a temporary measure the piercings in the centre of the badge will be omitted. Obsolete 24th May 1917 Short Slide (vertical shank). Brass King’s Crown Cap Badge Pattern number 9488, Sealed 25th May 1917, Catalogue No. CB 0289 Short Slide (vertical shank) reinforced behind the upper scroll. [PRO, WO 359/17 pages 120-121] I still need to find the Catalogue numbers, however it is possible that the same number was used throughout. Marc

This one has a vertical pin fitting fitted. It was made that way and not a conversion.
