Default Helmet plate

Can anyone tell me if this RM helmet plate is genuine please?I don't collect helmet plates,this came with some other badges.Thanks

Not a fan, i've never seen one with the lugs so close together (they are normally on the outer rays of the star)

My thought too, I have 6-7 Kings and St Edwards crown plates and the lugs on all are located wider apart than shown in the image and in exactly the same places on all.
I've never seen an illustration of such a plate showing the lugs so close together.

It goes on the white "ball top" helmet (google Royal Marines Band and you will find a picture of the type of helmet to which I refer.
