Default Help identifying these police badges

hi,

I have been asked to help identify and possibly value these police related badges. I believe some of them maybe related to colonial police in India. Any help greatly appreciated.

thanks

The lion in the middle is British South Africa Police (Rhodesia)

The large helmet plate is for Essex Constabulary, worn on the front of the usual blue beat helmet ( Essex police helmets also have an additional 'comb' on the top).

The SC with crown is Metropolitan Police Special Constable (SC) and worn on the eppaulette or collar - it's pre 1953.

The single crown is likely a Superintendent eppaulette or collar badge of rank.

The others are mostly self explanatory I think.

Regards all

Bess

Top left in first photo is Bombay City Police as is the BCP shoulder title.

Please let me know if you want to sell the NW Provinces and Oudh police badge.

Essex and Southend on Sea Constabulary were replaced by Essex Police. The helmet plate is Essex Police, their Coxcombe as mentioned above is unique to them and has a cockle shell on the front of it, to maintain the historical connection to Southend and its cockle boats.

Hi

The 'State of Alaska' Lt top right is a generic badge for police departments that are too small, or don't want the expense, of having a custom-made cap badge.

The small 'PICA' pin on the bottom row is for members of the Police Insignia Collectors Association of Great Britain (PICA GB).
