Default Tiptaft cap & collars

I managed to add a pair of Tiptaft collar badges to go with the Tiptaft cap badge I got recently.

Very nice Gerry.

I particularly like those lugs, seems Tiptaft may also have manufactured the Australian Siege Brigade hat and collar badges if that is the case.

Thanks, I have see three pairs recently all with the same distinctive lugs.

I shall at some stage try to get a tiptaft Australia title or two.

Default Tiptaft colls

Very nice! Note the collars are not 100% match. Look at the maker's marks, which are the 2 different collar marks I've identified. Any others anyone?

I had noticed they were not a perfect matching pair, but did not know there were only two variants on collars.

I have a shoulder title in the post to me as well

Hi Jerry! Sorry, didn't mean to suggest there were only two, only that I've only identified two (different TIPTAFT maker's marks on collars that is). Here's my example with the smaller TIPTAFT mark. Where yours has a clear dot between the scrolls on the back, mine has a cross. I've also seen them with the smaller mm but no dot or cross. There was also a thread on here with them being found in gilding metal (but very rare). So plenty of variants to be tracked down . Mike

Mike, I might have misphrased that comment, I did not assume you meant there were only two makers variants for Tiptaft on collars.

The seller I got the collars from had another set in dark bronze (they sold whilst I was dithering!) and also another pair since I bought mine, in the paler colour, I probably have enough now, but maybe another collar to make a full set of insignia for one man would be good to get.
