Default DH, RWY or 14th Londons?

Currently on ebay. The s/t is not clear but could it be Londons?

I’d spotted that one Alan and was also intrigued.

The POW plumes are interesting, at first glance I felt it may be the Lambourne style feathers due to the wide plumes and offset one to the (viewers) right plus the stout coronet.

However, since then I’ve had my doubts the Ich Dein scrolls do not appear to be in the right position.

Looks like ROY at the beginning, ROYAL WILTS, can't see, or work out the TY though.

Highlighted.
Did the RWY wear a blackened/bronzed badge at any stage during WW1?
Isn't it 15th London's not 14th who wore black POW badge?

The RWY and the DH shared a Sealed Pattern bronzed cap badge which was sealed in 1916.

The RWY did also wear bi-metal cap badges (may well have been lugged collars as they were the same size) in their caps pre WW1 but form 1916 the issued ones were bronzed. Not to say that bi-metal ones did not remain in use.

So it could be either. The trousers could indicate re-roled Yeo to infantry.

Also if it was re-roled Yeomanry then a bronze badge post 1916 would be right with an Infantry Wiltshire s/t so that looks a good call.

The shoulder title I'm sure is the Yeomanry ROYAL WILTS, as it looks like a large curve, and the letters at the beginning I'm sure are ROY, as apposed to the infantry tite WILTS, which is a lot smaller.
The title could have had the TY part removed?
Just my thoughts.

That ties up nicely.

I think he is a RWY trooper post conversion to infantry so no spurs or jodpurs and his s/t has been modified.
