Help please - early Essex related YC buttons
Team,
Am trying to finish off the YC chapter of my book. I have seen reference to the following Yeo Cavalry buttons in notes from pattern books, but they're not listed in Ripley, nor have I seen actual examples. Has anyone seen or have the following? 1. West Essex Volunteer Cavalry. 11/16", the letters W E V C over a Victorian crown, all over two laurel sprigs 2. Haverhill Volunteer Cavalry. Plain button with the letters H V C 3. 1st Essex Yeomanry. Silver buttons with eight point star device, to the centre a circlet and "1st EY". Most likely with screw fitting. Would be grateful for any info. EY |

Is this the one you mean?
Have you tried Ian Kelly, if he hasn’t got it he may have it catalogued Bob |

Thanks Bob, but that's a different one again - from later when they were Regimented, these three are all individual Troop buttons.
I have managed to find one of the WEYC ball ones you show - super scarce (as I suspect these three are, IF they do exist!) This one was only used for a few years and very rare to find. Best Michael |
