NWMP capbadge
I recently picked up this capbadge, I am very happy with it, I think the oldest piece in my collection.
I like the makers stamp, only thing it has a repaired lug, but it is a period looking repair. This is not really military, but of interest to Canadian badge collectors. Mike |

The uncommon J.R. Gaunt makers plaque should make it of interest to all Forum members.

The J.R Gaunt plate looks like it is made from the back of an unfinished button.

NWMP Cap Badge
Mike
Nice Cap badge and not to be anal but check out the Guidon, which is a flag carried by Cavalry units, including the RCMP. The campaign honors on it include Northwest Canada 1885 (NWMP), South Africa 1900 to 1902 (NWMP), France and Flanders 1918 (RNWMP), Siberia 1918 to 1919 (RNWMP) and in 1957(RCMP), the badge of the Canadian Provost Corp was presented at a ceremony on PArlaiment Hill. This last distinction was conferred by command of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of the RCMP's contribution to the Provost Corp during the second world war. Jack |
