Recently got this badge from dealer. It is the standard MG badge with 'CANADA; below with k/c. On the reverse has makers mark JR Gaunt london. What it is made from and is it genuine? Can anyone help? Thumbnails included |

The makers tablet looks ok but the photography skills behind it need to be improved if you want an honest opinion. Try using natural light, a wider aperture, longer exposure and a tripod. I can't even make out the makers name on it.

Looks good to me Phil. There was 5 different badges that babin listed & I'm sure some of the CEF experts will know of more, The Corps was not only CEF related, The CMGC was an enormous size & spread all across Cananda, Companies, Brigades you name it, You can see these badges on ebay any week, I don't believe they have been copied so far ,Bill A or Paul would know. But they have copied some of the common ones so who knows. Ray

This gaunt badge is mint chocolate bronze is considered a post war restrike in most cases now. Gaunt did a huge run of this for the reunion market and then sold a huge surplus awhile back thus flooding the market with these badges and to be perfectly honest with you I have never seen one with enough age to consider true WW1 issue.
