Hi Bill,
This one unfortunately might fool some unsuspecting bidders...but it is still a made up tunic as the Shoulder Titles are post war Canadian Made. Perhaps some lessons were 'learned' from our last discussion on the previous tunic offered??? Mike

impressions...
Of course we can nit pick every single thing....but one thing stuck out to me. The insignia looks like insignia that has come off a battledress and re-sewn onto a new one.

The tunic is troubling. There are fewer things obviously wrong than the previous offering, but the titles stuck out like a sore thumb.
Dwayne, I agree the whole thing looks sloppy. The insignia don't line up on an axis down the sleeve, they are out of alignment.

Question....
All:
This vendor seems to dispose of fairly? decent material on an ongoing basis, yet there seems to be issues with many of his items on offer. Is this person strictly a vendor, or a collector disposing of his accumulation, or a collector/dealer, or what? If strictly a vendor, then possible authenticity of material may not be of prime interest to him- if a collector, then is it not unreasonable to expect that he should know that questionable material should be noted in item descriptions, or am I completely out in left field on this one? Can anyone confirm where this vendor is coming from? Thanks! John S. |

Shoulder Badges
Those shoulder badges look like they are the 'marrow' edged version from the 1990s, am I seeing this right?

Hi Ed,
These Titles are consistent with post war Canadian Titles that were produced for the Regiment post war. I would date them late 1940's to early 1950's. What gives it the merrowed appearance is that the Titles have been significantly trimmed. I have attached a pristine example in my collection of the full Title. Shockingly and Sadly, as I post this the item is already north of $400. Mike

IMO the badging all looks suspect. It does not appear to have been in place for a long period of time.

Please remember the discussion is focused on the item. Discussion of the vendor can be done by pm. That way the Forum avoids issues. Thanks.

Post War Shoulder Titles on BD
This newly listed tunic on e-bay has all the hallmarks of this previously discussed item...namely post war titles cut down to give it the merrowed edge look. There are a couple of other concerns in my opinion...caveat emptor.
Althought it is not the same tunic we discussed (I compared it to my pictures from before)...I suspect this vendor may have purchased it from the same source. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Battledress-C...item5d34e7c244 Mike
