Default Yukon Territory Machine Gun Badge, Good Or Bad?

Greetings everyone, and a belated Happy New Year. I'm posting some photos of a Canadian WWI badge from the Yukon Territory which we purchased in a large collection several years back. Gaunt London marked reverse at bottom. Measures about 36 mm in width. Many thanks for any and all replies.

I don’t collect Canadian but if that’s fake you could knock me down with a feather duster.

The mark, workmanship, quality, finish, fixings are exactly what you’d expect of a Gaunt made OSD collar and the age and patina look commensurate.

What’s the pinned embellishment supposed to be, a nugget of gold?
