Warrant badge strange fitting system
Hello! What do you think about this curious fitting system? The badge is 2,5 x 2,5 cm

Looks like the fitting on ladies ear rings before the days of pierced ears.
Maybe the crown was converted to an ear ring to be worn by a Major's wife |

Or as part of an outfit for coronation or jubilee celebrations as earring or as brooch, the holes being for stitching to a red, white and blue cloth rosette worn on the lapel buttonhole.

I would go with earring as it has an 'upward' clip .

Yes, I'd noticed the orientation of the clip, could be an earring though if a WO's crown its a bit large and the whole contraptionbeing of brass it'd make for a green earlobe.
