Title changed from UTC to UOTC in 1942.

In 1920, when the Indian Territorial Act was passed, the University Corps was replaced by the University Training Corps (UTC). In 1942, the UTC was renamed as the University Officers’ Training Corps (UOTC).

Was definitely around in 1927 :

SUPPLEMENT TO THE LONDON GAZETTE, 3 JUNE, 1927. 3617

To be Members of the Civil Division of the said Most Excellent Order:—
Captain Francis Maxwell-Lawford, Administrative Commandant, Madras University Training Corps
