Default READING/NUR Shoulder Title - Help Please

Hi there,

Hope somebody may have a clue on this "READING/NUR" shoulder title.
I bought it on the off-chance that it was Military and related to Berkshire possibly WW1 era.
Something for Reading University maybe – something along the lines of National University Reserve/Rifles etc.
But have not been able to find anything and it has remained in my ‘unknowns’ box for some time.

It could of course, just as easily I presume, be “National Union of Railwaymen” – and home-made for a local branch.

Though the “READING” and “NUR” parts have different letter sizes, the thickness of the brass seems the same and both parts appear to be of similar age and reasonably well joined together.

(Size : 32mm High x 51mm Wide)

Anyone got any ideas please.

Many thanks

Ian
