Default WRAF Officer Brooch and Rank Slides?

I do tell myself I shouldn't dabble in things I know nothing about - so knowing absolutely zilch about the RAF, I've found from a forum search that the crowned badge is a WRAF Flight Officer's brooch. Knowing that, would I be right in putting two and two together and deducing that the two oblong badges are also rank badges for a WRAF officer?

WRAF Flight Officer and Flight Lieutenant possibly. Can anyone confirm?

Mark

Hi,

The top oblong badges are for a Flt Lt and Flying Officer (L to R). They were worn on raincoats circa 1970's. For Pilot Officers up to the rank of Group Captain. As far as I am aware, they were worn by both sexes.

Your blue brooch is for a WRAF Pilot Officer, this was worn on Mess Dress.

The PMRAFNS had different brooches. The blue ones from Pilot Officer rank to Air Commodore.

The PMRAFS from Flying Officer to Air Commodore.

I have attached images of the sets of Female Mess Dress brooches.

Regards,

Graham

Starting from the top row - Flight Lieutenant, Flying Officer raincoat collar rank insignia worn in the mid 1970's-1980's on the single breasted beltless raincoat (aka the 'Flasher Mac').
Below that is a WRAF Mess Dress enamel brooch for a Pilot Officer, this was worn on the blue 'tube' Mess Dress which was abandoned in 1999 in favour of a standard RAF Mess Dress with long skirt.

I believe that the blue tube Mess Dress was designed by Norman Hartnell but I can't get confirmation - perhaps someone could let me know.

Gents
Thank you for taking the time to reply. They came in a small local auction lot of RAF badges I couldn't resist bidding on earlier in the week.
Thanks
Mark
