Default 3rd Gurkha badge

Arrived from Dehradun. Dealer said might be silver but don't think so, but genuine old badge.

Not seen that type of reinforcement to the crown on the rear of a Gurkha badge before. Interesting. Is it a reinforcement or a repair? Tim

Hard to say Tim. May be a reinforcement or even a repair. But no signs of any breaks at the joint. I've seen this kind of thing on some Indian Cavalry badges to reinforce the lances.

Yes, not silver, but for the equivalent of 20 GBP in Indian rupees still a very good deal. My first Gurkha regiment badge incidentally, though i have others to the Burma-related MP units.
