4 Cdo
Pour memoire - as they say.
Nothing exceptional about this title - except that it was worn on D-Day, 6 June 1944 by a French Commamdo JNCO, LCpl Guyader, ex 10 (Inter Allied) Cdo. Mike 4 Cdo_LCpl Guyader FR.01.jpg4 Cdo_LCpl Guyader FR.02.jpg |

Then it is, without any doubt, whatsoever, truly exceptional.

Thank you so much everyone - I think I will frame that single title with his photograph and all the personal information that members have so kindly provided. What a remarkable site this can be. Until I obtained that title (in an exchange with a French collector) the prize item in my collection was the then WO1 "Bronco" Lane's beret badge - discarded in the bin in the tailoress's shop at Hereford when he was commissioned - and started to wear a wire embroidered badge in its place.

Excellent to see the story behind 'a piece of cloth' ... attribution and good research brings inanimate items to life.

Four years older and a little wiser - I agree. It's an exceptional piece and I treasure it. Mike J
