Berkshire Yeomanry Cap Badge
Chaps,
Does anyone have a Berks Yeo cap badge that is fully die struck? The Regt wore the Wonky Donkey badge from 1908-20 and then adopted the RA badge until late WW2. This should be a scacre badge but is common so I can only suspect wide spread restriking. I have seen lots of die cast badges but have never been totally happy with them. I do have a beret sized 1950s badge and that is fully die-struck so I was wondering whether a full sized die-struck exists. Alan |

Not an ORs cap badge, but since the thread is about Berkshire Yeomanry
I thought I would show my Officers bronze cap and collars. Cheers Malc

Keith,
It is also in w/m which is wrong. Odd though because the copies are usually die cast rather than die struck. This is the reverse of the Berks yeo beret I have. It is a very small badge but clearly die-struck. Alan Last edited by Alan O; 23-12-07 at 09:50 AM. |

Alan,
This is a large one that is die-struck. I am not sure whether this is a genuine one or a re-strike despite the maker's mark on the slider - J.R. GAUNT B'HAM I have had it since the late 60's - early 70's Opinions anyone. Cheers Chris |

Chris,
many thanks. The more I see of Gaunt Bham Yeo badges , the more I think they were restruck for collectors in the 1970s. Alan |

Alan,
Thank you for your comment. I suspect that you are correct. I was never happy that it was a 1908 -22 badge. It is a space filler until I can obtain a genuine one - we all live in hope. Cheers Chris |

Chris,
This is my latest aquisition. I went for it as it appears to have genuine age and a convincingly shaped slider. Alan Last edited by Alan O; 01-03-08 at 07:51 PM. |

This is the badge next to a very good repro. There are fractional differences in the front but the back is much better struck. There is a noticable rim around the badge whereas the copy is shallower and blurred. Apart from that the 2 are very similiar except for the appearance of genuine age of the metal. The fake is the top one.

Berkshire IY
Not to hog the forum but I've been picking up quite a few Yeomanry badges from one fellow. So far I've been very happy with what I've got but the next few posts are the latest I've recieved from him. He has a money back guarantee so I've been posting to the forum for comments as to originality. I'm a long ways from an expert on British badges so I appreciate the input.

Berkshire Yeomanry caps and badges
Hi seeing that their are a few threads dealing with the Berkshire Yeomanry I thought seeing these caps may interest some members.I was called by a chap who had pulled a suitcase from his loft which contained the caps and the complete wartime uniform of Sgt R.S.Edwards 903904 Berkshire Yeomanry which I was only too pleased to purchase regards Roger
