Chris, I am definitely no expert, but your badge seems to have a capital letter "D" on her cheek. I have never seen that before, but again, I'm no expert.

Just an observation,

Terry

Sorry, I was not clear. I was referring to the ‘Artists Rifles’ type, and whether that had two patterns. I wave seen some with a smaller font. It was whether these had loops and sliders.

Terry, that is just a reflection.

Chris

The fat or block font lettering is a giveaway for the MM fake die.

There are several genuine AR dies, some have Brucie chins etc., but all have finer font very unlike the fake die.

As stated already all the genuine WM AR scroll badge I’ve seen have been from the same die as shown in post#2.

Similarly every BB AR scroll badge I’ve seen has been from a single die, below. Sorry I don’t have it to hand for a close up atm.

I believe that is from being buffed ( rubbed ) down by someone.

This may be of interest. Published in 1946 by a former member of the regiment who records that in1914 'Artists' badges were in use and in 1920 'Artist's Rifles ones were issued.

Thanks Alan.

You posted the original article this addendum relates to in the below thread:

May even be worth merging both threads.
