Default 156 batallion The Parachute regiment

This photo is of my grandfather.
Could someone please confirm the correct colours of his parachute regiment shoulder patch.
I would like to buy an original but need to know the correct colour.
He was at Arnhem .
Thanks in advance
Quinn .

Dark blue lettering on light blue backing - lots of images on the net. The photo seems to show the printed version rather than an embroidered one.

Agreed. A beautiful example of a wartime dark blue on light blue printed “PARACHUTE REGIMENT” shoulder title. Getting hard to find and expensive these days, so fake examples are multiplying.
Love the beret too.
I take it you have an example of the book “From Delhi to Arnhem” the definitive history of 156 Parachute Battalion by John O’Reilly. It includes the list of members, hundreds of photos and a set of maps. If not I can recommend it. You may even find photos of your grandfather in it.
