Question for British Collectors from a Canadian collector.

I have a question for British Collectors that I am hoping somebody can help me out with.

I recently came across and interesting pair of collars to possibly The Lorne Scots that I had never seen before. (Sorry no pics) Is there any British regiment or regiments that wore a similar collar (boers head)? Perhaps this interesting pair of collars are British and not Canadian? Lorne Scots example below.
