72nd Hampshire Cap badge Question
As I've been looking for one of these, I have run across two different types in brass. One type which I believe to be good has all the letters around the oval the same size. But I've also seen a lot of badges where the "S" in Hampshire is smaller than all of the other letters.
Is this second type a fake? Thanks, Terry |

I have pulled a picture of the small "S" badge that I suspect as being bad from the net. I am hoping with the picture I can get some feedback abut the validity of the badge as good or bad. There si also a version where all of the letters are the same size, including the "S", which I feel is a good badge, but don't know for sure.
Any help here is appreciated, Terry |

The badge in the photo you posted is a complete fake. The crown should be voided and the lettering clear and sharp to my knowledge.

Thanks CB. I thought it was, and mainly because of the small "S". I didn't know about the voided crown and quality of letters. I believe I have a good one located, but it's got to take it's turn, so can only hope it will still be there.
Thanks again for the info! Terry |
