Default Connaught Rangers 88 numeral

Hi all,

For a sale two Connaught rangers related items.

1. Pork pie hat (?) numeral "88" pre 1881 badge. Looking £55 including shipping and PP fees. Removed from sale now.

I am always looking early (pre 1939) British ribbon bars with foreign awards; interesting devices or just different construction solutions. Also I am seeking Royal Dublin Fusiliers items. I can help in small scale to research RDF soldiers (MICs, medal rolls, additional information, etc).

That numeral is not pre 1881 as those type of loops are not what was used. Its more than likely Indian in origin.

That shoulder title is likely for the 88th Carnatic Infantry, old Indian Army.
