Perpetuating the mistake...
An ebay listing with the notoriously mis-identified embroidered CMP title. Not only is the title mis-identified by nation, it is also attributed to the wrong war.

Hi Cliff, The titles are Second World War era Corps of Military Police. British, not Canadian. There is another title, R.C.M.P. in black on red for the Royal Corps of Military Police that, though short lived, causes a great deal of confusion. It is often represented as a Royal Canadian Military Police title.

Here's the Corps of Military Police cap badge plus printed and embroidered shoulder title. The unit was grated the royal prefix in 1946 and the title changed to RMP.

I must be missing something as the listing states that the title is WW2, British and for the Corps of Military Police. Did the listing change since this thread started?

Hi Steve, I contacted the vendor, and to his credit he changed the listing.

Okay, that's what I suspected. I didn't realize that some people mistook this for a Canadian shoulder title but I can see how the "C" might lead some to think it is.
