CSMMI Annual Show 2014 report

Back from the CSMMI show and here is a short report.
The move to one hall made a difference. With everyone in the one space, it was conducive to more talk and it seems, more sales. A couple of new vendors added to the selection of material. Friday afternoon was busy with Saturday a bit slower, but still a good turnout, especially compared with last year.
There was a good variety of material, with some exceptional medal groups, rare badges, uniforms and insignia. As well, there was a good selection of not so rare material. The vendors I spoke to were all happy with the sales, but some again expressed concerns about the number of attendees. (The number was up from last year, but it would be good to see more coming through the door.)
All in all, a decent regional show.
At the annual general meeting some issues were addressed. The CSMMI executive has cleaned up a couple of outstanding issues, and there is a solid foundation to build on. Again, there is a need to continue to recruit members. After a rest in July and August, the monthly bourse meeting start again in September.
